Reg Crawford - Director

Reg Crawford has considerable recent consulting experience in business and elite sport. He works closely with individuals, teams, and organisations who are passionate about improving and sustaining their levels of performance. He is skilled facilitator, speaker, and analyst.

Reg is a graduate of the Officer Cadet School Portsea, The University of New England, The University of Canberra and The Australian Army Command and Staff College – the Army’s Masters level Leadership and Management Program. 

Reg enjoyed a 22 year Army career that included operational service in Rwanda, East Timor and the Middle East, leading units of up to 300 personnel including soldiers from Egypt, the UK and the USA. Reg gained extensive leadership and management experience.  He served in the elite Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) for a greater part of his career.  Reg also gained considerable experience acting as an advisor to the United Nations in New York and to senior State and Federal Government officers while working for the NSW Police Commissioner Mr. Peter Ryan during the Sydney Olympic Games.  He was awarded the United States Bronze Star Medal for meritorious Service during operational service in the Middle East.

Reg left the Army in 2005 and was invited by the President of the Collingwood Football Club, Mr. Eddie McGuire to conduct an organisational analysis of the football operations of the Club.  Mr. McGuire subsequently asked Reg to accept a 12 month contract to implement the recommendations of this review and he was appointed Chief of Staff in October 2005 and later, General Manager of Football. 

During his time at the club, Reg developed and oversaw the implementation of strategies for elite player development, operational planning and communications.  He also conducted an organisational review to improve the efficiency of the Football Department structure and developed a high performance strategic plan.  This involved significant emphasis on developing a culture of elite performance.
